Abstract
Development of competence is a process that does not stop during the entire career of a specialist. In this process, the readiness of graduates for professional activity depends not only on acquired knowledge, skills and qualifications, but also on some additional qualities, and today the concepts of "competence" and "competence", which are the main units of the competent approach, are being used to define it. This article covers such issues.
