Abstract
This article analyzes the modernist direction in painting, which prioritizes the formal task of creating a three-dimensional shape on a plane using a combination of geometric shapes (cube, cone, circle, etc.), the special place of cubism, and its development from the distant past to the present day in the 20th century fine art.
