Abstract
Allergic contact dermatitis is a type of eczema that develops as a result of contact with an allergen. It could be something you put on your skin like hand cream or a metal belt buckle, or something you touch like poison ivy or nickel. Symptoms of allergic contact dermatitis may include itching, redness, swelling, and blisters. Treatment may include corticosteroid creams, antihistamines, and avoidance of allergens. If you have symptoms of allergic contact dermatitis, it is important to see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. In some cases, if you do not consult a doctor, the symptoms can worsen and lead to complications.
