Abstract
Herpetic infection is a chronic recurrent infection caused by the herpes simplex virus and characterized by a predominant lesion of integumentary tissues and nerve cells. There are currently two types of herpes simplex virus. Type I of the virus mainly affects the mucous membranes and skin of the mouth, nose, eyes, it is transmitted mainly by household contact, type II causes genital herpes, it is transmitted mainly through sexual contact. The reservoir and source of herpetic infection is a person: a carrier or a patient. Isolation of the pathogen can continue for a very long time.
